innovative training program developed by Nursing Informatics is
tailored to engage and equip nurses with computer skills enabling them
to optimally use the new Clinical Information System.

Multidisciplinary Diabetes Education Course
The
Multidisciplinary Diabetes Education course was developed to educate
health care professionals in the prevention and management of diabetes,
increase the number of accredited diabetes educators and ultimately
improve patient care. Based on the International Diabetes Federation
Education modules, the course was developed in collaboration with the
College of the North Atlantic Qatar and sponsored by Action on Diabetes.

Therapeutic Engagement in Mental Health Care
The
Qatar National Mental Health Strategy calls for transformation of
mental health services. An interdisciplinary team, including clinicians
and a service user, developed an educational program to create a shift
in attitudes and behaviors within HMC’s Psychiatry Department.

The Allergy and Immunology Awareness Program
The
chief aim of the allergy and immunology patient education program is to
help patients and families gain insight into their conditions. Other
benefits include maximizing limited clinic time and improving
understanding of and compliance to complex treatment plans.
