Safe Transfer of Patients to their Home Country
In September 2013, a repatriation committee was formed to ensure the safe transfer of patients back to their home country. These patients are medically stable, but due to permanent disability as a result of illness or injury, they are currently being treated as inpatients at various HMC hospitals, which is not beneficial for their long-term health. The multi-disciplinary committee worked with embassies, sponsors and other agencies to safely return patients back to their country of origin to be able to convalesce with their families.
