ANNOUNCEMENT

The 2020-21 intake is now closed and all selected candidates notified. If you have not been notified of selection, your application was unfortunately not successful during this intake.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, we are facing a temporary disruption in the recruitment of those residents selected to join HMC in July 2020.  Selected candidates should continue to monitor their email for messages from HMC’s Medical Education and HR Departments, as onboarding will proceed when it is feasible to do so. These individuals should not apply to the 2021 intake.
The 2021-22 intake is expected to open for applications in August 2020. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to begin preparations now, taking careful note of the required scores and documents required to apply.

For candidates who have not yet written clinical and/or English language proficiency exams due to a disruption in their planned exam date, we are unfortunately unable to accept applications until a score is available, and you may need to apply to a later intake if exam disruptions persist beyond the end of the 2021-22 application deadline.

Hamad Medical Corporation Residency Programs Matching Process 2020

Hamad Medical Corporation
(HMC) is the largest governmental healthcare institution providing healthcare services to the community of Qatar. HMC is the first healthcare system in the region to achieve prestigious institutional accreditation by the ACGME International LLC (www.acgme-i.org). To date, fourteen (14) of HMC’s residency training programs have successfully achieved ACGME International LLC program accreditation. HMC sponsors more than twenty (20) residency programs and many fellowship programs. In addition, HMC is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Center. HMC is also a member of Qatar’s Academic Health System, with a tripartite mission to advance clinical care through teaching, education, and research, and is a primary affiliate of two medical schools in Qatar: Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar and the College of Medicine at Qatar University.

HMC’s Medical Education Department is pleased to announce that the Residency Programs Matching intake for the academic year 2020-21 will accept applications between 1 August 2019 and 30 November 2019. This intake is for residents seeking to join HMC starting July 2020.

Please note that some residency programs, typically those with larger intakes, may choose to review applications and begin interviews within the application period, on a “rolling” basis. As such, strong applications submitted early in the intake period may result in earlier calls for interview.
