Academic Health Program Office provides a seed funding award to fund the development of promising innovations with the ultimate goal to improve patient care. We do this because Innovation drives healthcare improvement and constant improvement keeps the corporation at a world class level.
This award is meant to support the transition of innovative ideas into tangible prototypes. Prototypes that benefit HMC either by commercialization or application in clinical practice.
Hamad Medical Corporation recognizes that innovation can occur anywhere and does not have to be the result of a research initiative. Employees are the most important asset of HMC and therefore Academic Health System Office welcomes innovation proposals from any department and any employee as long as the innovation contributes to improvement of health outcomes and has clear patient benefits.
This award is open to all HMC staff, both individuals and teams. Joint applications with our AHS partners will also be accepted where the lead applicant is an HMC employee.
Funding will be awarded on a competitive basis. Key factors for selection are the impact and value of the innovation to patient care. Multiple submissions are allowed. However, be aware that taking an innovation to a stage where it has practical application requires a considerable amount of time and input from the project team.
The AHS Program Office can host an information session in a group or department or hospital upon request.
